Shaping the Future of Education TogetherThe Open edX Conference is where the Open edX community and leading experts in ed tech discuss the latest research, new approaches to learning, and best practices for integrating new technology into the (virtual) classroom. The enthusiastic, supportive community make this a unique, must-attend event. This year's event is focused on the growing importance of collaborative learning and how educators, students, and technologists are coming together to build the next generation of educational technology. We will discuss innovative uses across higher education, lifelong learning, instructional design, course production techniques, and methods for operating, extending and enhancing the Open edX platform.We welcome you to submit a session proposal for Open edX 2020. We are particularly interested in proposals in the following areas:1. Pedagogy and Instructional DesignCourse authoring, production and promotion techniquesInnovative courses, in particular in higher education, social impact, and professional development & trainingWhat works best in online learning?2. Platform and ProductTowards collaborative learning: blurring the lines between educators, learners and technologistsTrends in online learning and training, for instance: online credentials, professional development, lifelong learningWhere are we now and where do we need to go?3. Integrations and ExtensionsAnalytics & researchTechnical deep divesExtending and integrating the platform4. Devops and OperationsLatest best practices for running a siteChallenges and solutions for successful online educationOf course we will consider proposals outside of these areas as well, but these are the topics we are projecting for the conference.We are accepting proposals for 45-minute breakout sessions, 10-minute lightning talks, and 90-minute or 3-hour tutorials/workshops (on Tuesday May 19th). If you have any questions, or would like to discuss other possibilities, please send us an email at openedx2020@edx.org.We will inform speakers whether their proposals were accepted:- on March 13th for breakout sessions and workshops,- on March 30th for lightning talks.InstructionsAs you fill out the proposal form, keep these points in mind about the fields:Description: This is a paragraph or two, for the public schedule and program booklet.Detailed description: this is where you should provide a lot of detail. Who is the audience? What do you assume they know? What will they learn? A detailed outline of your talk would be amazing. This will not be published, it's for us to understand what you are proposing.Notes: these are other notes for the organizers. If you have listed multiple authors, please let us know who will be doing the presentation at the conference.  If you are still considering alternate formats beyond the session type you selected above, you can specify that here.
