Description:

UndergroundJS was founded to highlight and level up the local Nashville developer community. Being a community focused JavaScript event, our goal is to share amazing projects, companies, techniques, and people in Nashville. In addition to JavaScript developer related topics, we encourage developer adjacent and professional skills talks to provide a more complete experience.UndergroundJS is a nonprofit event facilitated by TechFed Nashville, a Tennessee nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and grow the grassroots tech talent in Middle Tennessee through educational events and groups. TechFed provides financial stewardship, risk management and volunteer leadership development for Nashville-area technology events.Join us as we celebrate our accomplishments and failures while inspiring and empowering our future. Anyone interested should apply to speak at UndergroundJS. In fact, half of the 2019 speakers had never spoken at a conference before and we loved empowering, mentoring, and supporting them as they took the leap.Based on attendee feedback from 2019, this year Undergrouns JS will feature two keynotes and four sessions. Keynotes will each be 1 hour and sessions will be 40 minutes each.We strive for a good mix of technical and non-technical talks.Who Should Submit? We would like anyone interested to submit a talk. From those who have never spoken before to those who are seasoned conference speakers. Those new to the industry and those who have known nothing else in their career. We celebrate the diversity that is the Nashville tech community.Don't know what to talk about? There are many ways to brainstorm topics. Is there something you'd like to learn? Learning then explaining that process to others is a great way to understand a topic deeply. Have you just worked through a challenging situation? Speak to what you learned from that process. Maybe you've recently changed career paths? Speak to the transferable skills you've seen be beneficial to you. If you're really stuck we'd love to help you work through the process. Reach out to us via email.Code of ConductAll attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with the code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all participants to help ensuring a safe environment for everybody.
