Description:

A premium community conference for IT professionals and companies in the CEE region, now at its 10th edition.ITCamp 2020: 2 days, 5 tracks, 50+ sessions.Check out some overview videos from our past editions: 2019 / 2018 / 2017 / 2016  ITCamp 10th edition - Call for Content-------=====-------Hello everyone,We're coming to you with an update on the whole COVID-19 situation, and how that impacts the 10th edition of ITCamp.Back in March, we tentatively rescheduled the event for October 7-11 instead of the original dates (June 3-7). However, even back then we were well aware that the situation might still force us not to be able to host an event of that scale in October. After monitoring the evolution of COVID-19 worldwide, we've now decided that we're not going to be moving forward with a full, in-person ITCamp event this year. The October timeframe is still fuzzy in regards to potential health risks, the impact on global travel and potential local restrictions for large-scale events. That is why, in the interest of ensuring the health and safety of our attendees and speakers, as well as to make sure we are able to deliver the level of quality people have come to expect from ITCamp, the 10th edition of ITCamp will be postponed for a future date when we know we can provide a high enough level of safety and confort to everyone involved. Right now, we're looking at the May-June 2021 timeframe, but even that may change. Of course, we'll keep everyone informed of any updates. We appreciate this is not the news anyone wanted to hear, and that's why we do have some good news here as well! In an attempt to address the gap left by the lack of our yearly ITCamp event for the entire ITCamp community at large, what we will do instead is we will focus on a couple of things in the upcoming months:- One, our regular ITCamp community meetups will move to an online format, and will be occurring regularly (every 2-4 months). Expect more updates to come here, the next event is already in the works!- Two, we are working on putting together a more lightweight online/virtual one-day event on October 8th, focusing on AI & Security, where we'll get some of our confirmed international speakers to join in remotely as well (it will be a one-day, one-track event, with 6-8 sessions, happening online, and we're aiming for it to be free for all attendees). So, you'll still get a chance to hear some of those awesome speakers and interact with them, even if it won't be in-person!We'll give everyone more details on the upcoming community meetups, as well as an agenda for the Online/Virtual event on October 8th as soon as possible.Until then, #takecare and #staysafe !~ The ITCamp team-------=====-------This edition, like in the past years, we would like to give a chance to other IT community people out there (from both Romania and abroad) to attend our conference as speakers. So, if you want to have your own session and speak to a highly experienced IT audience, then this is your chance!Topics, Submissions & Deadline We'll reopen the Call for Content later in 2020.We accept sessions on any of the following topics:Development (any language/platform)Cloud & InfrastructureData Science & AIAR/VRDevOps & AutomationIT SecurityUI/UX DesignLegal & ComplianceBusiness, Management & InnovationDigital TransformationSoft SkillsEvaluation ProcessAll submitted sessions will be rated and ordered based on their final score/rating. Selected speakers will be invited to attend this year’s ITCamp event on June 4th-5th. Travel and accommodations will be covered for all selected speakers not based in Cluj-Napoca (Romania).   Evaluation Criteria  Technical or management expertise Past experience as a speakerPresentation skillsSession contentSession levelTips for a winning submission Before submitting your session, you might want to consider the target audience you’ll be talking to, as well as some of the other tips we have put together for you. You can submit more than one session. For instance, you can check out the breakdown on the technical expertise and role in the organization for the attendees from last year – this should help in positioning your content so that it is relevant for that type of an audience. We are marking all sessions on the agenda according to their technical depth level. We will use something similar to the TechEd conference session levels (ranked 100-400), so you will be asked to evaluate or plan your target session level before submitting it.Check out an overview of the SESSION LEVELS we use here. We’re open to pretty much any technical (development, Cloud, infrastructure, security, etc.) or IT management/business topic. Feel free to check the sessions from past years if you need some inspiration.  Also, please keep the following recommendations in mind:   Write a descriptive, fun and enticing title – this should “sell” your session to the audience Target 300-400 level technical content; 100 and 200 level content is in low demand – if you say your talk is level 400 then make sure it is or be prepared for a barrage of feedback in your evaluations!Describe content that is new, unique or significantly refreshed from a previous presentationTake a solution-oriented approachEnsure there is minimal marketing talk in your contentShowcase your speaking experience (past events/sessions you’ve had, ideally sessions which were also recorded)If targeting levels 100-200, focus on currently released or upcoming technologiesLook into an advanced/expert approach to existing technologies and solutions (levels 300-400)Include one or more live demos for technical sessions; historically, sessions with strong demos receive higher audience scoresInclude personal experience; this goes down well with an audience of your peers, as everyone prefers to learn from someone else’s mistake instead of having to go through it themselvesPlease note that sessions that focus on proprietary technologies or solutions and on selling/advertising those technologies will be ignored from the start. Also, the ITCamp organizers reserve the right to select specific sessions based on other criteria or preferences, as needed. Thank you, and good luck! :)
