After a fantastic inaugural event in the fall of last year, the API Specifications Conference (ASC) is back. ASC 2020 will include keynotes and sessions on specifications and standards behind the cutting edge technologies that chart the future of APIs. We are looking for talks that range from beginner introductions to API specifications all the way through best practices and forward looking sessions on API specifications and standards including OpenAPI Specification, gRPC, AsyncAPI, GraphQL, RAML, API Blueprint, oDATA, JSON Schema, and others. In-depth discussions will not only enable attendees to get familiar with these specifications and standards, but actually use them in practice.Also, with the new online format, we would like submissions on open discussions that you are interested in leading. This will allow more attendees to learn and engage with each other while physically apart. The event has its origins in the API Strategy and Practice Conference (APIStrat) which ran for many years and became part of the OpenAPI Initiative in 2016. The collaborative spirit and community from APIStrat will be continued through the ASC event and we look forward to many of the same lively conversations and debates!API practitioners including specification and standards maintainers, API developers, operations, and API architects will attend ASC 2020. The CFP has been extended until July 10th 11:59pm PT!Please submit your proposals for either a talk or open discussion: Talk - A 20-25 min talk to teach attendees something new, share experiences, best practices, and more.Open discussion - If you want to lead and moderate an open discussion on a specific topic for attendees to share experiences, work on specification proposals together, or explore new ideas together. (These will be even more important this year since we will be a part.) The most important part of the submission is information about yourself and the topics you’d like to present on. Be concise, but also be specific. It is hard for us to accept talks that are vague. Timezones/presentation:You will have the option of pre-recording your talk and participating throughout or giving your talk live. Timezones will be optimized for the Americas, but speakers can pre-record if the timezones are not favorable. Need help?
