Description:

Kubernetes Community Day Amsterdam is coming back in September! As the very first edition was the first Kubernetes Community Day in the world, we ought to our community to bring back and expand the event to a larger attendance and more content; we will have as you can expected two days full of talks, workshops, ideas and bonding between the members of the vibrant Dutch (and international) community.First Time Submitting? Don’t Feel Intimidated!Kubernetes Community Days events are an excellent way to get to know the community and share your ideas and the work that you are doing. You do not need to be a chief architect or long-time industry pundit to submit a proposal, in fact, we strongly encourage first-time speakers to submit talks for all of our events.ConsiderationsOur events are working conferences intended for professional networking and collaboration in the community and we work closely with our attendees, sponsors and speakers to help keep Kubernetes Community Days events professional, welcoming, and friendly. If you have any questions on how to submit a proposal or the event in general, please contactConsider the Following as You Write Your Proposal:What do you expect the audience to gain from your presentation? Why should YOU be the one to give this talk? You have a unique story. Tell it.Be prepared to explain how this fits into Kubernetes Community Days and overall Open Source Ecosystem. We definitely do not expect every presentation to have code snippets and technical deep-dives but here are two things that you should avoid when preparing your proposal because they are almost always rejected due to the fact that they take away from the integrity of our events, and are rarely well-received by conference attendees: Sales or Marketing Pitches Unlicensed or Potentially Closed-Source TechnologiesThere are plenty of ways to give a presentation about projects and technologies without focusing on company-specific efforts. Remember the things to consider that we mentioned above when writing your proposal and think of ways to make it interesting for attendees while still letting you share your experiences, educate the community about an issue, or generate interest in a project. Join us for the second edition of the world-first Kubernetes Community Day to be held in Amsterdam! We had a great first edition and the event will follow a memorable Kubecon in April; we want to be the best and most inclusive community for all things Cloud Native in Holland, and we need your contribution in the form of awesome talks and workshop submissions; we will offer a great, vibrant community to engage in rich and enlightening discussions.  We are looking for user {success|failure} stories, deep technical talks, open source projects demonstrations (if relevant to the CNCF landscape) and engaging inspirational talks about contributing, using and loving cloud native software projects and communities. Please submit with your talk references to previous speaking experience (worry not if you don't have them - reach out to us, we will have special speaker support for first time speakers): you can show us a github repository, a video of your talk, or something along these lines.Crucially, by submitting and accepting your talk at Kubernetes Community Day Amsterdam 2020 you are implicitly adhering to our (and CNCF's) Code of Conduct: https://kubernetescommunitydays.org/code-of-conduct/
