The idea of starting a business can be quite exciting! Often it offers promises of green fields and huge payouts. In reality, starting and running a business is quite different from what most programmers expect. This talk features first hand experiences in attempting to build several businesses as a programmer, the rollercoaster rides that ensued, and the lessons learned (and, sadly, sometimes re-learned).
