This talk is for developers of PHP, Java, .Net, Go, Typescript, and everything else who have been hearing the hype around Erlang / Elixir / Gleam and wondering what's going on over there.

We'll briefly discuss the current ecosystem with these tools to get an understanding where these technologies are being used. But more interestingly, we'll take what you know about YOUR languages of choice and use that to teach you the core ideas behind the Erlang virtual machine.

You'll walk away with an understanding of what the "BEAM" (Erlang virtual machine) really has to offer and easy first steps for trying it out.
