"A new feature in the latest X" is something we can dream of. We're stuck with PHP 7 and framework version X-5 and gave up trying to change to the latest X.

This is our daily bread... and we love it! We upgrade legacy projects for fun and profit. We've developed a couple of strategies on the go.

In this talk, I will share them with you in 2 steps: 1) First with building foundations: type-coverage, smoke testing, ECS, PHPStan and Rector. 2) Then with PHP + framework upgrade itself.
